Instead of investigating Bush and Blair's agreement to go into Iraq way before 9/11, the media is fawning over Laura Bush's little comedy routine at the WH correspondents' dinner. Our economy is going down the toilet, gas prices through the roof, the WH is allowing its own shills in to the press corps, and the media just looks the other way. There are a few magazines that write some great stuff, but the biggest investigation you will see on TV is about American Idol. |

A high school newspaper reporter broke a story about local military recruiters who violated rules to try to sign him up even though he claimed to be a high school dropout with a marijuana problem. High school kids are doing more serious journalism than TV. I was watching local news last night and the first 5 or 6 stories were car wrecks. Whatever happened to enterprise reporting? Besides the fact that management won't give anyone time to turn a good piece.
