you need to go anyplace that will give you that opportunity. There are ways to get on-air by starting behind the scenes, but you'll get better, faster if you start on-air. The more you do and learn in that small market, the better equipped you'll be to move up. |

my guess is that you're right out of college and your first job is usually at a place where you'll work your arse off with little pay. try to shoot for a place where you can blow off steam on the weekends and still afford it
try to aim for a place where you can get away to the beach or be around other young people like a college town. my first job was in a rural place that was close to nowhere and it was a miserable two years.
