No, they ALL suck. One just sucks less, has more in-depth investigative reports and doesn't irritatingly rush to get an overhyped POP on the air about being two seconds ahead of the other stations in reporting a mind-numbingly idiotic story "first."
And before you criticize my personal preference of KRQE's news over KOAT's (Lead story: More thrilling unseen video from the 'American Idol' junk) and KOB's (Sex Offenders: They're still out there), let me tell you that I'm not an employee of ANY TV, radio or media outlet and I'm right in the demo your NDs and GMs are salivating to reach.
And as far as news judgement goes today, take Good Morning America's chronology this morning:
-More American Idol crap ("He got a call from Paula Abdul!")
-More Jennifer Wilbanks crap ("She's actually sorry!")
-More Michael Jackson crap
-And yet MORE American Idol crap!
Meanwhile, America's closest ally, the UK, is having a possibly direction-altering election (which was only mentioned in a crawl) and yet more people have been killed because of violence in Iraq (also skimmed over in a crawl). Yet, Disneyland is having an anniversary party.
Does ANYONE beside me see a disparity here? If not, then there's a good explantion for what's passing as "news" in American TV media.
