In Reply To: I would trust the guidance of soemone who was actually smart enough to pass all the real classes that train you to be a meteorologist. Not a slacker that couldn't hack it so they went for the correspondence course. If viewers don't care, why don't we tell them and see their response?
Message: MSU courses are for people who weren't nerdy enough to know they wanted to be meteorologists at 18. It's a great program for people who are serious about the business but got into weather after college to become accredited. Most people don't have the time or resources to quit their job, move to a city that has a University that offers a met program and try to play catch up. Anyone with any experience in the field who takes the courses and studies hard is definitely qualified. The courses are every bit as good as any traditional program. I know people who have gone through MSU who can run circles around some degreed people. Not only that, but people with a TV background are generally much more personable and better at story telling than the uptight met grads who are basically science geeks. There are exceptions either way, but I don't like to see people looking down on serious weather people because they got into the game a little later.
