Stations sell ratings, not share.
And why all the fuss over last night?
23 Had Idol...every FOX affil in America did well last night....and should tonight.
Thursday they will suck, and Friday they will hide with 45 mins of sports as they always do on that night because they cant get an audience then.
So forget one night, ok....and try to undertstand the biz hamburgler. |

Ever heard of cost per point? That's rating....not share.
Idol ran at 7...was over by 8, and the news came on at 9. And only a few FOX stations had higher than a 10 last night for their local news. One of them was KOKI. Oops, there goes another bogus theory. And KOTV does best on Thursday and Mondays....following CSI. ABC does best on Sunday night with Desperate Housewives...Face it, stations do best with good lead ins. But not all stations can hold a lead-in. Check out the lead-in for KJRH and KOKI newscasts last night...identical. News numbers much different. Those are facts. Sorry to struggle to come to grips with them. Losing just isn't much fun is it?
