and force all criminals to register.
I don't want a killer, a thief, an embezzler OR a pedophile living next to me!

....question -- if you're frustrated with the coverage your station is giving, then maybe you should look at other ways to cover the story. And yes, it is a story.
Is knocking on the door of a released sex offender the best of stories? I don't know. Just about every station's done that at one time or another. Look for other angles to the story. This is your chance to enterprise and cover a story that's not going away in a way that makes you engaged in the story.
As for the Florida cases -- it's frustrating here in our market as we had THE SAME THING happen near here. Only thing is it hasn't gotten the national attention the Florida cases got.
And finally, as a mother of both a girl AND a boy -- I'm worried for both. This doesn't just happen to girls. But I also worry about state lawmakers who rush to pass laws. What would happen to my son if say, when he were 18 or 19, had sex with a girl who was considered under-age (whether knowingly or unknowingly). Would he then be classified as a sex offender and be subjected to the same label/opinion/ostricization as the guys who are truly pedophiles?
