I have a right to know if a convicted child sex offender is living next door to me-- I don't have a right to harass,humiliate or infringe on his rights.
If the state won't provide me with such notice and the news media does--so what. |

... you would know that frightened feeling of someone looking at her.. hovering near you both.. in the grocery store. It's enough to keep your eyes locked on your child until they turn 18.
Just the mere thought that Jessica was abducted, raped, and BURIED ALIVE, where she suffocated while clutching her little purple dolphin for security.. is enough to make any parent want to personally rip John Couey's head off with their bare hands.
We had a pedophile dad on our little league team once, when I was a kid. He would invite young girls to play games in his motor home during slow times at the field. Only after he raped a 10-year-old did several other girls come forward to say they had also been molested (he was a pretty popular dad -- they probably didn't want to "cause problems" by reporting it).
When taken to court -- girls from his daughter's soccer team also started fessing up about what had happened to them.
Only THEN did we all find out he had spent time in jail in Colorado for the same thing. He was a convicted sex offender. His wife knew, and didn't even try to keep kids away from him.
That was more than 20 years ago. He's out now, as a VP of some tech company in Colorado. I just hope he's not coaching the neighborhood little league team.
I personally think he should still be in jail. And so should a lot of other pedophiles.
