In Reply To: I have quite a few friends at KJRH, and I think I can speak for them when I say that they all think the Problem Solvers are a joke. Nobody likes it - except the higher-ups. KJRH has some really talented people there, but they aren't allowed to do their jobs without a bunch of micro-managing. And to whoever said that the Problem Solvers would fail like in NY, that isn't exactly true. The demographic in Tulsa is very different than the one in NY, and people in that part of the country LIKE stupid, gimmicky crap. KOKI will do well with theirs, because they turn a better product. KJRH won't because they rushed into it (as always) and didn't take the time to polish.
Message: It was well publicized within the FOX23 newsroom that the station now is one of the top FOX stations in the country for its 9pm newscast. It's only been on a couple of years, so this is expecially impressive. If you compare the product now to what was put out a couple of years ago...it is night and day. Anyone remember those early reporters, and that terrible anchor they had. Now they have better people, and the newscast looks great. They've invested in decent weather tools and continue to grow their ratings. I remember all the posts slamming this station early on...last laugh now appears to be on them. They have done in three years what KJRH has tried to do for years and and not been able to. As far as ratings...there's very little suspense other than in some demos...will KTUL beat KOTV in the demos again this book, or not. I suspect not. KOTV will will in total viewers. KOKI will beat KJRH in total viewers and in demos. The other question...will KOKI be able to beat either KOTV or KTUL in demos. They do really well the younger they get.
