I don't have kids, which is definitely part of the reason these stories don't affect me as much. But is it our job to alert neighbors that a sex offender is nearby? I though that was the point of the sex offender registry. There are dozens of them in any zip code... barring a recent repeat offense or registry violation, what makes this news?
I agree with samuraiproducer that it's just a way to scare people into watching.
