American viewers have no choice in what newsrooms consider "important" stories and how much coverage they're plastered with. Viewers get what they get. Network and cable newsrooms create what is supposed to be important, and viewers have to follow. That "viewer interest" that producers and NDs harp about is no more than a feather in the wind.
It's why cable news was able to hammer a stake into the heart of network news.
And now, it's why cable news viewership has been draining slowly.
By the time producers and NDs figure out what that smoke in the horizon means, they'll be crawling on each other's back to stay alive. |

Arguably AI is currently one of the most talked about/watched TV shows going. You don't think ABC is doing this story because of the show's popularity=viewers "want" more of this? Oh yes. Paula is a nothing burger without AI and anything AI gets watched.
