Who has that kind of money???
I eloped for my first wedding -- costs with flowers, cake and dress (well we had a few friends and family with us) -- under $2000.
My second wedding 15 years later -- planned in three weeks with buffet and beer for 75 guests at a small country club -- cost less than $5000. Station photog brought his camera and rolled tape (with the chief's permission, of course).
Both times people there told us it was a great wedding and they had lots of fun.
My parents backed off and let me plan both, and only paid for a little bit of the first one (I told them where to show up a few days beforehand -- because I didn't want to leave them out).
But on the other hand -- sit-down dinners for 600 with 14 bridesmaids is a little much and takes more than a year to plan -- and she blew it all. Did you see her house on the lake? Poor little rich girl. I hope her dad makes her pay for her next wedding. She should have spent all that money on therapy! |

...I mean, come on people, whether WE as news people watch or not --- there are others who are watching. While I don't think the story is an ex-boyfriend, I do think the story of "who" was planning such an elaborate fare should be asked. If the bride claims she was stressed because of the wedding -- it would be good to get down to those answers.
Unfortunately, no one is asking. Of if they are they aren't including the answer in any story we've seen so far.
