In Reply To: Pumpkinsid, the KOVR transition from Sinclair to Viacom will definitely NOT be like the KCAL-KCBS merger ... Sinclair stripped down that station to sell it -- taking away helicopter, satellite truck, weekday sports anchor, etc. Viacom will pump new life, and a good amount of needed expenditures into their new baby in a growing and evolving market whose new arrivals have no built in allegiance to the grey old lady that is KCRA-3. I don't remember KCBS being on early prime, and definitely not with a 10PM news that got better ratings than KABC & KNBC @11. So that's a unique situation there as well. A KOVR return to 11pm, where into the mid 90s it was usually #2 (to KCRA-3 NBC) would set up a put-up-or-shut-up battle to end the sweeps-time bickering on this board. Plus KOVR has a weak morning product and no weekend morning show, so KMAX UPN-31s added strenghts in those areas are points of interest. So, pumpkinsid, you didn't really add any insights to my questions, which are still very much up for debate.
