According to Imus a slut is a young woman who has the nerve to stand up to the old geezer's crap. One who after weeks of being, insulted, slandered and harrassed, dared to express her own opinion about the old goat. She's someone who got the jerk right in the ego and he couldn't take it.
I'd wager that if he'd tried to pull this crap on a veteran journalist like Andrea Mitchell, the Imus supporters and msnbc management would have a different take on the matter.
