All of us who work the evening shift are challenged when juggling family and work. I worked am's for years and spent many hours a day with my kids. After going to nights, I rarely see my kids during the week. It's a HUGE commitment...and one that should not be taken lightly. Not really the subject matter, but it was addressed in a previous post and I feel strongly about it. The move to nights could very well ruin your family life. Think long and hard about it. Getting back to the subject matter, as a chief in a top 20 market, some stations hire from within. My take, if you can get in a station in a larger market as a weekend met, that's your best bet. |

To make this decision ask youself this question: If your career never goes any farther than this next move which situation would you be more content with? We all take jobs looking for the next move but what if you're there longer than you plan for?
