As a photog I was making the same as the people who worked at the McDonalds across the street.
The Hoth family owned the station, and had tight control over content. I believe hearing the sports department wasn't even allowed to cover the local baseball team's games because of some business deal that fell through. I hope, for the sake of those who work there, things aren't the same.
However, Colorado Springs is a beautiful city. Lots of things to do outdoors. There are several military bases around the outside and it's pretty conservative (home base for Focus on the Family).
