It IS possible to have too many facts in a TV news story...too many that it causes confusion and destorys the purpose of the reportage.
Stories need to be linear..and organized...and "edited"...
Now...before you get all "tight"..I think I know what you are talking about..because I have had those producers and EP's, too...but
just for the record..you CAN have too many facts jammed into a story.

as you stated..in this case, the storiers were ALWAYS limited to exactly what they should have been..the 5 w's and the h..basic journalism..
trell the story simply.. directly..and without frills..
i was prouid of ALL of them..because they accomplished those goals..which is to inform the viewers as fully and completely as possible..so, under those conditions, i respectfully disagree..you CANNOT have "too many facts" in a story..
