...journalism never WAS simply about earning a paycheck. Not sure I'd put it quite so dramatically as you, but, yeah, journalism IS about saving the world...or at least, making a small part of it accountable. Sorry, but it's not just a job; it is a calling, and an honorable one...or at least, it's supposed to be. At least, it used to be. |

.. go work at a newspaper. They are the ones doing real journalism and breaking real news. TV news just jumps on the trends in the local paper.
We're not in the journalism business, we are in the television business -- where the bottom line is the bottom line. Let's get over this waxing poetic about days gone by.
