Here's the situation, I haven't graduated yet, I used to intern at this station, and I really want to go back to this place. I love the station and the people are great! It's a pt production assistant job that requires 3 hours of work a day. I know it's a good way of getting my foot in the door, especially since the ND is willing to hire me just for the summer. I have a feeling it would be a great experience, but the pay is so low... especially when I know I could be making more at an upscale department store (which just offered me a job). Plus I'm waiting to hear back from a station nearby about a production assistant job... I guess the issue here at my point in life is what's more important: experience or money? What do y'all think?
Anyone care to share their starting out stories? |

What are ya' gonna learn in an upscale clothing store? How to sell clothes?
Well, while that may be honorable work --- and heaven knows we all need a good person to advise us all on what's good and what's not good on the racks---do you think it's what you want to do?
In TV, it can hit the fan at any moment. If you're there, heaven knows what role you could be thrown into. Things do happen.
Life if full of sacrifices. But if you're in LA, like your LAcollegeGirl implies, being a schmuck in the second largest market is an opportunity someone from Nebraska or Minnesota would give their eye teeth for.
Besides, I'm guessing you might live at home. Your basic needs are covered already. All you have to do is show up with the right attitude.
By the way, I'm looking for a nice, basic blue business suit. Can you help me...and give me your associate's discount?
