WOIO is similar to many other distant number threes (five?)around the country.
A lot of turnover on both sides of the camera... always trying to reinvent the wheel... and never focusing on the only thing that will ever move them up.... the big "C"... consistency.
It takes time... often years... but as long as they keep making frequest changes... hoping to find the "silver bullet" anchor/branding/graphics/set etc etc etc ... they'll always be dead last. |

Actually, they seem to have stabalized a lot. I like their look and talent. People like CleveSales will point out their downs instead of their ups but in general they are a good station in a good market. I congratulate Cleveland for its overall improvement in news. I left town several years ago and recently returned, unsure of what to expect. The market news product overall has gotten much better, and the catalyst seems to have been the sudden influence of WOIO. As i understand it, they haven't made management or talent changes in the past couple of years and that seems to be paying off.
We are in a tough racket so i really like what I see in Cleveland now.
