Television news is just another profit center now -- taken over by the suits just as the health care industry was.
It's all about packaging the product now. It's hard to tell where the promotion ends and the news begins in any given item. |

Then join NPR or PBS. This is a business. Its about numbers and the bottom line and crying about the days of journalism being a "calling" is overrated. If you are not happy with the business, leave. There are plenty of people willing to take over and "earn a paycheck" which is what the work world has always been about. If you want to blame someone for the current state of journalism, then blame the fickle viewers who prefer reality TV to a presidential news conference.
