I'm a producer at the station across the way, and generally despise the way WBBH operates.
This story is an exception.
I saw the story, and the promotion. The promotion is all "Anchorette is having twins!" The story had interesting facts, and information about new developments and trends for couples seeking help with infertility. Yes, if you're seeking in vitro you proably knew some of this... but many more people are not, and yet are interested. In a story about four minutes long, I think there was about 20 seconds of b-roll of the anchor, and one, maybe two sentences in the taped piece about her specifically. In a damned if you do, stupid if you don't situation, I think they did really well.
Ironic, since NBC-2's anchor-at-large did her own pregnancy story last year... and that story was heavy on the "I'm pregnant" and exceptionally light on the "new and unexpected" side.
