Anyone notice? Reporting has been managed out of the equation. In TV "news" operations from coast to coast, staffs are hyperfocused on everything from live shots to teases, but very little attention is directed toward digging up stories with meat. Anyone who's in charge--including corrupt officials--are safe. They know no TV news operation is going to invest the resources needed to find them out. Just be sure your supers are in an hour ahead of time. No, an hour and a half! |

..you hit it!
It is the reason TV news is dying nationwide.
Now...we need good teases..and live shots and great video..
But what we need most is great story telling!
However..to get great storytelling you need great stories and only good, connected, diligent and tenacious reporters can dig those up.
You won't get them over the fax machine or on a VNR...
or..from Drudge...
If you want to WIN...report..
or..better yet..dig up good stories and promote them and tell them..HONESTLY..
You will be #1 in your market.
