will begin narrowing much sooner than you think, if you decide quick money is more important than a career doing something you think you'd enjoy. That's ok.
But if you take the instant gratification, each day will take you away from tv news/production. You can have both; I've been in 6 figures since the 80's doing something I love, but I started out making barely enough to live. But not once did I regret that decision, and I know LOTS of people who now wish they'd been willing to make the early sacrifice. |

If you have to question whether or not to take a PAID job in tv, or whether to make a couple of extra bucks an hour in a damn department store, PLEASE take the department store job.
There are plenty of other young folks out there who would be willing to cut off a dangling appendage to get an entry level job in tv, for whatever it pays.
It's all about the resume sweetheart. If you don't realize that, please, go spray some old farts with perfume as they walk in Macy's department store, and leave television news for people who deserve it.
