In Reply To: So, The President of the United States gives a once-a-year press conference and NBC and Fox dump out of it five minutes early and CBS doesn't run it at all. Thanks, ABC, for staying with it. I don't care what anyone's politics are... IT'S THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED-FREAKIN'-STATES. LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING?????????!!!!!!!!!!!
Message: As a courtesy, whenever a President Of The United States requests time, even prime-time, a President should get it. Once a network decides to cover it, they should stick with it until the President is done, no matter who the President is. Have said that, it is now no different at the networks than in local television, with a sales manager breathing down your neck, nervously walking around in the control room, complaining about the reporters asking questing after question. The networks are neither red nor blue, but green. They don't care about civic culture but only about the money. General Sarnoff, Bill Paley and Leonard Goldenson are all turning over in their graves.
