In Reply To: Here's the situation, I haven't graduated yet, I used to intern at this station, and I really want to go back to this place. I love the station and the people are great! It's a pt production assistant job that requires 3 hours of work a day. I know it's a good way of getting my foot in the door, especially since the ND is willing to hire me just for the summer. I have a feeling it would be a great experience, but the pay is so low... especially when I know I could be making more at an upscale department store (which just offered me a job). Plus I'm waiting to hear back from a station nearby about a production assistant job... I guess the issue here at my point in life is what's more important: experience or money? What do y'all think? Anyone care to share their starting out stories?
Message: If you want to sell clothes, the choice is easy. If you want to break into TV, you have to make the sacrifice. Most of us did. It hurts, for sure. But there's really no other way. Sorry...I lived on grilled cheese sandwiches for two years before I started making more than $10k a year.
