It was probably retaliation for Brewer going off about him to friends which got reported on Page Six today.

Brewers comments were tame and hardly worthy of the tirade from Imus. Imus can dish it out but he can't handle someone giving it back. That's why he surrounds himself with ass kissers like Charles and Bernie and Kaplan as well. He can't handle beautiful, strong women. He's so whipped at home by that gold digger that he has to berate all other women. If he didn't have money he wouldn't be married to a young woman, he'd only be able to snag a dust in a dress,dimwit.
