It's difficult to get a straight answer to your question about that because very few people seem to know. A manager who is told that a region or product is making money will be let go the next day. As stations change formats, or their traffic needs change, metro lays off people rather than trying to sell more. It's a very strange, strange, place. On the other hand, if your traffic gig is as a morning TV presenter, it could get you a foot in the door for other on air work in larger markets...lots of face time. |

on the market. In some places, Metro does well. Also depends on the manager. In other places, you might want to check with Traffic Pulse.
Bottom line -- if traffic is the only way you can get face time, go for what you can get. But if you can get a solid reporter's job in a small/medium market, I'd say go for that rather than a large market traffic job. Doesn't get you nearly enough face time and type-casts you.
