This is not the first time the broadcast nets have ignored a presidential prime time newscast. It's a simple decision: I haven't checked, but ABC will probably break in because it has a crappy Thursday night (they wouldn't if it were a SUnday night) and NBC may or may not break in. I wouldn't even argue the point tonight: the Prez is not going to be making any earth-shattering pronouncements... he's going to try to shore up his poll numbers and social security reform. |

And I wish you were right, but with gasoline at $2.50 a gallon, and with Bush wanting to change social security, it WILL be a big news conference. It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned...
