I will never forget watching CNN report the returns on Bush v. Gore in 2000.
Woodruff, Bernie Shaw and the rest looked ready to pop champagne corks early in the night, while I was watching at work.
When I got home and turned on the set they looked like they were announcing a worldwide Ebola outbreak. And I mean just barely short of tears.
It was so transparent I had to laugh.
The only thing I've seen come close to that kind of transformation was Katie Couric witnessing it all over again in 2004 - and blaming it on the Catholic vote.
