marshall's, tj maxx...those type of places. i've purchased tahari, jones ny and dkny suits at both of those places for 1/6 of the cost. sometimes the items are extra runs, other times there may be a defect - so keep a close eye out. but if you look often and look carefully you can dress very affordably without having to go to sears or penney's. and when it comes to SHOES - those kind of stores kick butt. most big name designers end up with their brands on those shelves at VERY discounted prices. so for all of you out there trying to work your $17,000 salary into something fashionable - that's my advice. forget those sak's snobs - they're probably making 6-figures...when you make their money, i say go for it. until then - use your head and shop til you drop!!
