I've been in the same boat before. Do what is right for you!!!! Most contracts would never hold up in court anyway. Even the non-compete parts are BS. I've had lawyers look into everything for me. Just be upfront and honest if you get an opportunity to move up in markets. Offer to give 30-60 days notice. Tell them that you'll help train your replacement. Trust me, if a station were to find someone that suited their needs better than you you'd be history, contract or no contract.
