is not "nice". She's perky. And a celebrity. Whathahell does that have to do with Laura Bush?
Forgive me. I've never thought of myself as an apologist for El Presidente's wife.
But Good Lord! Comparing that Couric woman to the Pres's wife is so off the mark.
Get your respective heads out of your asses.
TV is TV. Real life is an altogether different thing.
In Real Life, La Couric matters not at all. Nor does Ms. Bush.
That doesn't change that one is a self-absorbed prima-donna (in the business by choice)and the other is somebody who's along for the ride. And traveling rather gracefully.
Please please please tell me most of the people who've posted here do not consider theselves journalists.
So why did I post, right?
A last gasp. I despair.

"TV is TV. Real life is an altogether different thing".
Bullshit!
There is NOTHING real life about the Bush Dynasty or those who joined into it. Politics is as fabricated - smoke and mirrors - as the crap that you produce for television.
Laura married a rich, politically connected, morally bankrupt politico/chickenhawk who is running the U.S. of A. into the ground as he did many a business in Texas. I have no pity for an opportunistic woman who hitched her wagon to a faux cowboy/ political star.
But hey, as the world falls apart, thank goodness that Laura is out there telling our kids to read!
She will go down in history as one of the more forgettable first ladies, versus, say, Dolley Madison, Eleanor Roosevelt, or (love her, hate her, just remember the name) your future president, Hillary Clinton.
And if I really thought that Ms. Couric was nice, then I would not have used "nice" in quotes, dumbass.
