Message: What's more imortant to you? Working for a big name firm but doing uninteresting work OR doing relevant career shaping work, but working for a complete no-name, lower-tier consulting company? I know that it depends on the person, their career goals, and values, but I'm interested in getting some perspective from you guys. Let's take an example, let's say you get a job offer from McKinsey, not doing what you really want to do. You know that McKinsey would be huge on your resume, but you may not be doing something exactly of interest - but maybe interesting secondarily. Would you like this job more than the one where you would work at a total no-name or company with a bad reputation, but doing exactly what you want to do? what would YOU do?
