In Reply To: Well my company is here in N. Va. I am employee number four and truly pissed. After two years of growing this company with the Pres and VP I was given 2000 options. We are pressing on for an IPO but expect to be acquired within the next 6 - 9 months. (Expect) Our options are 100% exercisable at change of ownership. There is a vesting period of two years. Which started for me January 1, 2000 (screwed again)...I also took a below industry salary. Have not had a raise in two years...and no raise in site (budget constraints) for atleast a year. Now..on the positive side I have a "cushy job", where I have learned a great deal. (Used to work at JP Morgan) no more corporate America stuff. I just don't know if I should go for more $$$$ or stay for a possible payout. By the way, we are no $100 a share company... I am so scared of the Value America curse
Message: The important thing is the percentage of the company that you own, not the exact number of options.
