Still bad, after all these years... |

I worked for Staples Business Advantage for over 3 years, which is a record. They have an over 80% turnover rate in our area. Seeing problems from 5 years ago on the retail side echoed all too familiar recent issues from the contract side. Not all the same issues, but the basics regarding discrimination, incommesurate pay, "fraternization" ( you should be a fly in the bar at the national convention...not to mention the "poolside Barbies" working with the upper managers for a promotion)and unrealistic sales goals. They hit the nail on the head with regard to promotions and "soft landings" to those that can't cut it but are a 'favorite' of the powers that be. And heaven help you if you raise a real question at the Town Hall meeting that hasn't been pre-screened and coached....better get that resume polished up and look for an alternate reference! I am not disgruntled as much as disappointed. It has the potential to be a real force, but they misuse and abuse their employees daily, and hope that a 3 day national meeting will erase 362 days of frustration.
