To the non-attorney chimp:
The only checks required for a candidate to submit to are criminal and drug. Anyone who doesn't cross out the credit and litigation investigation clauses is an idiot. The only areas wherein credit is relevant is when one is performing in a fiduciary role and handling money.
The blanket background checks being used by firms is the prime source of identity theft. Most of these checks are now run in India, Russia and China. Fine fodder for an H1B attorney who wants to nicely splice in a false background for a candidate.
Most employers will back down on the credit and background check. If they don't then find another employer. |
