The ultimate Schmooze tactic in the good ol' boys network, (and there are still alot of good ol boys), is to golf with them. I was a mid-thirty professional female, (meaning several sheepskins and still young enough to find the good job), that took up golf for the sole purpose of being able to golf with the President of our company and thereby have 4 hours of uninterrupted time to schmooze. Did it work? Sort of, I left the company for another better position in another company, (one of my bosses golfing buddies), and I got a great recommendation letter from my previous boss, spent alot of time golfing and drinking instead of working. Remember a bad day of golf is better than a good day of working and even schmoozers need a break now and then.
