I've been offered a position with SLB. I must admit that I'm a little hesistant because of the hours and time away from my wife and kids. However, if it only lasts 3 years, or until I reach GFE, I could make it through. My question is-----Once I reach GFE, will I be given the choice to move into Technical, Management, or Sales? Also, is the lifestyle different in these sectors than the GFE's? Lastly, what would the pay be like compared to GFE?

The first 4-5 years in SLB are tough and if you can put your head down and make it through with good results - you will have the choice of job functions. The hours are more regular in management and/or sales but stil expect to work quite a bit if you want to do well. The travel will always be there but there are always jobs and locations in SLB where one does not have to travel so much.
