My experience with the most unprofessional recruitment process I had come across this season! I finally did not decide to join Sapient because of the mess the recruiter made while negotiating the offer. They did manage to give a very good picture during the Super Saturday but when it came to real deal ?? final recruitment negotiation the company lacks one big core value: ??Professional Ethics??. I hope at least the other parts of the company do know what that means! Certainly the recruiter was unaware of that!!
After several missed and wrong offers I felt there was lot ambiguity on what was offered.
My story is pretty similar to the couple I have read here. I just wanted to provide some ??FEEDBACK?? to people who are looking forward to join Sapient:
1.A pre-offer before a formal offer doesn??t make sense. I couldn??t have been more confused to get a call after my Super Saturday saying, I would be considered but there was a 50% chance I might not be. Well, I though I had better odds before I got the call.
2.For a world class company like Sapient, Dec 7th doesn??t mean Dec 7th it could be a few weeks here and there. Generally it??s considered unprofessional to take people for granted just coz they have shown interest in the company, well Sapient doesn??t believe in that.
3.If anything, a job offer should be consistent over multiple conversations! But again Sapient is different, be ready to hear lame excuses of incompetence after giving your best during the interview process
4.An email extending the offer should not be considered an offer! Arrange a phone call as soon as possible or, be ready to hear from the recruiter that you have missed the train or there are hundreds of people like you who called before!
5.Make sure the recruiter you are talking is not a head hunter employed by Sapient, who is interested in the ??cut?? he/she gets by making a lower offer to you!
And to the people already working or going to be in Sapient: add ??Professional Ethics?? as an eight core value for the recruitment process!
