In Reply To: Just want to know if anyone else has had this experience with Sapient. I went to their Super Saturday weekend a few weeks ago. A week later I recieved a phone call and an email telling me that I was going to be made an offer and I could expect it by the 16th of December. The 16th rolled around and no offer came. I called into their office and was told that "too many people had accepted offers and unfortunatly there was no more open spots" They apologized and said that they would put my name at the top of the list if anyone dropped off...when I asked what the chances were of that happening I was told "about zero percent". Am I bitter...yes, a little bit. I have another job offer that's competitive with what they would have offered, but I was just amazed at how unprofessionally they approached their hiring. Did anyone else find it strange that they took pictures of the candidates? I know that in NYC it's illegal and discriminatory to do so...don't know about in Boston. Did anyone else receive this treatment or was I the only one? Suggestions?
Message: Hi!! My story is pretty much the same as yours. After giving an offer over the phone on about Nov 22th, I was told will receive a call on Dec 6th after not getting any call on Dec 6th, I was refused the offer via email about 3 weeks later giving the exact same reason which says "Due to overwhelming response and amazing acceptance rate". What has made my situation even worse was I "refused" two other offers between Nov 22nd and Dec 6th as Sapient was my first choice and they had given me a verbal commitment (kind of a commitment I should say). With no face could I go back to those two companies. So eventually it turns out I am without any offers and have to go thru the entire process of Job hunt in this spring cycle, which is an overwhelming thought in itself. But I guess I am helpless and will have to use this case as a learning experience. After reading your response I atleast know there are others who have seen this and God knowns when their list will move. Not everyone will use this message board but I simply hope no one is ever put in a bad situation like this ever by any company and not just Sapient. Regards, Amazed
