In Reply To: This coming school year, i will be interviewing for the big BB internships. First, can you interview for IB and S&T at the same time? Second, i am really concerned that a career in S&T is not very stable? Third, if one goes through the training program, does it generally teach them what they need to know to do well, and does anybody know of a failure rate percentage? If one was not skilled at all in S&T, could they just wait a few years and head back to B-school to become an associate in IB? Any SERIOUS input would be appreciated. Thank You
Message: interview for both. Goldman now a days requires it. Many firms expect you to. Some firms don't like it as much...but they won't necessarily penalize you for it. My guess is that you have a strong inclination toward one or the other. Its probably better to go for the gold in that area, but I never wanted to do IB. Talk to alums from your school who are friends of yours. They'll give you the best advice.
