we all talk about making millions and retiring early, etc. then why is that so many of us rent? renting is just throwing money away. wouldnt it be more financially sound to buy a house and let the mortgage payments work for you?

some people don't yet have the credit established to get a mortgage. That's my situation anyways, other than that you're right.
