Working on te CBOE was great. Markets where moving and the Bid/Ask was 50-75 cents wide. Now days the spread are 5-20 cents wide. I don't know how floor traders on the PLXH AMEX CBOE are makeing any money??? When I was on the floor seat leases were over 10k per month and if you did every thing by the book it was easy to make 100k per mounth. Today seat lease on the CBOE 1k per month and I don't think MM are amking any $'s. Maybe it will pick up someday but know a job with IB sound great, even if one has to work 80hrs/week. LOL |

Sounds like you did well during boom times. Did you start off on the floor as a clerk right out of college and then move up to a trader/MM position?
I think most people are just waiting it out. Either that or closing shop. Do you think things will pick up in the next few yrs?
