Thanks for the guidance all. Unfortunately my father is not the CEO of a BB, just a mere mortal, and my degree, while good, was not from an Ivy. guess I'll wait for the bull rush and keep my fingers crossed |

i can't speak for the BB's, but at my shop junior/assistant traders are often promoted to a full trading position.
i would disagree with anyone who says that a trading assistant job is a dead end. the learning curve is steep, and the information gained is valuable even if you don't end up trading @ that particular shop.
trading is trading. the only thing that differs is the name which is backing you. we have a bunch of guys here who were orig @ bigger shops (merrill, tucker anthony, state street)
