In Reply To: It depends on what u want to do at Generic. They have a prop program which might be good. Any daytrading shop is a "last ditch" effort to get into trading. It ain't pretty but it can work for you. Read up on the Ibanking board under the thread, Are Daytraders cool? Generic is a decent firm. Just don't expect too much. If you're lucky you'll get a good mentor and learn. If not, it's learn as you go. It is possible to make great money at one of these firms. They will raise your share limit to 5K or even 10K if they think you're good. But it's a challenge to make it happen. If you are using a 25K deposit...that means you are a customer. This is the professional division of Generic which is a subsidiary of Carlin equities. It is simply a souped up broker offering a desk and a place to trade w/ other traders. One of their principals is a legend in the daytrading world having made well over 50M FWIW.
Message: Risco: Thanks for the guidance. I actuallyspoke with them at length the other day about opportunities. I was less than impressed both with the people I spoke with and the resources, tools, and support available to traders. If anyone is interested, they are looking in Boston (woburn) office.
