pimp daddy's been around on this board a lot longer than you have, with a lot more useful to say.
Your statement betrays a real lack of understanding: "Nick leeson cost the industry billions"...how???
The losses on his position maybe totalled 1 billion, but derivatives are a zero-sum game. That means some firm or firms walked away with that 1 billion, and it's hardly a secret in the industry which firm took the most (and well done to them!)
I agree he was a schmuck though; if only such traders came along more often... |

Volumes at CME have been very good on anything traded electronically. Same w/ NYMEX and EUREX. The liquidity and volatility are there. What more do you want?
