Congrats, I am starting there in July. I don't know much about the sucess rate other than what the recruiters told me, but I think they said it was about an 80% success rate, and that the top first year trader usually makes more than 100k. I don't know what an average ballpark would be. I've heard a lot of good things about the firm also, can't wait to start. |

first, congrats! you can breathe easy!
i hate to put numbers up because they really do vary radically. i've heard that the "median" salary in this type of business for first-years is around $75k. but that number is meaningless because the variance is so huge (i got a C in stats, but you know what i'm trying to say here?)
a better measure of salary is that most first-year traders with whom i've spoken (at heartland and other firms) initially live in brooklyn in a cheap locale, but soon realize that they're making enough to live in the city.
anyway, congrats again. i'm in the middle of my senior thesis... 9 more weeks until graduation!
