How would you rank the investment banks in terms of their S&T Divisions? Through total volume, PnL, or some other factor?
I've been thinking about this lately ... How would you rank the fixed income and equities divisions of the top banks .. here is what i came up with:
For equities:
ML, GS, MS, CSFB, UBSW
How does that looks? |

By the amount of business done by the institutional sales and trading desks, 2001:
1) Merrill Lynch
2) Goldman Sachs
3) Morgan Stanley
4) CSFB
5) Salomon Smith Barney
UBS is nowhere to be found.
