It seems as though alot of undergrads are nervous about grades, market experience, etc... I am in one of the most prestigous Trader training Programs on Wall Street... I will be dead honest, I do not have a 3.5 GPA, I did not go to an Ivy, I did not know anybody in the fucking business, however I do have persistence!!! Starting Frshman year in college, I had an internship with a broker, from there I realized I wanted to get away from Sales...Next summer I worked for a Limited partnership, junior year I worked for a Specialist firm....I got all these internships by annoying the fuck out of the recruiter in a kind way. I faxed resumes and letters and followed up...if I got rejected i would ask WHY and plead my case.....Anyway, I put together a great resume, I showed leadership, persistence and character...I showed the recruiters that I was in CONTROL of my future and i wouldnt stop until I was trading... Now, I look back and realize you don't have to be the smartest, most inteligent canidate, you have to be the most PERSISTENT and HONEST person you can and show passion...."Getting the job done regardless of the situation"...By the way, I just passed my Series 55 today! I passed my 7 3 weeks ago and things are looking good. My next rotation is Capital Markets/ Nasdaq Market Making....I can't wait fucking wait! Good luck to all who have the passion to trade like I have! |
