I am recently took a job as a specialist trading assistant (clerk) on the floor of the NYSE with one of the biggest specialist firms on the NYSE. My goal is to work on a trading desk of an investment bank. Is this a good place to start and what should I be doing to reach that goal. My undergrad is from West Point and I had to serve three years in the Army so I am not sure on what the right path is. I tried get a job at an I-bank but no one was hiring.
